Washington, DC 10-6-06 Dr. Franklin “Frank” Kameny one of the protest signs that he is donating to the Smithsonian Museum of American History.Dr. Kameny, a long-time gay rights activist is the first openly gay person to have his or her papers accepted by the Library of Congress. In another “first”, the protest sign and others from Dr. Kameny’s collection are going to be donated to the Smithsonian’s Museum of American History and will be on permanent display when the museum reopens after its renovation.
