ASSERTIVENESS AT WORK will enhance individual self-concept, develop innovation and creativity and benefit the wider school community.
SAFE SPACE encourages teaching and support staff to analyse current policy, procedure and practice on bullying, to visualise and share strategies to further enhance safeguarding in the learning environment.
CELEBRATING DIVERSITY is an opportunity for staff to share best practice in areas of Equality & Diversity, Differentiation and the development of learners’ social and emotional skills
IN DETAIL
Young people, who experience bullying, whether physical or psychological, often suffer from low self-esteem and are unlikely to fulfill the objectives of Every Child Matters and Youth Matters. Marginalized students, who feel excluded, are more likely to underachieve academically, engage in substance abuse, self harm and contemplate or attempt suicide.
We work with staff and students to identify all forms of bullying and actively provide opportunities for the development of a fully inclusive and supportive learning environment where ALL young people can fulfill their potential.
Students learn social and emotional skills, develop an understanding of interdependence and community and devise strategies for eradicating prejudice-driven bullying.
Staff workshops, suitable for induction or as part of CPD, cover areas including development and implementation of policy, identifying and tackling bullying (including cyber-bullying), creating a safe space for students and widening representation of all learners through greater differentiation within lessons.
