DAVID E. WATTERS
IS AVAILABLE FOR YOUR PRIDE EVENT
Today was a great day! One of those days where minds meet and conversation flows effortlessly.
Today I have had the most incredible time. There’s nothing quite like minds/spirits meeting and thoughts, experiences and philosophies flowing freely.
Today, I met with Marcus Patrick and his beautiful and equally inspirational wife to make a short video for the Give ‘em Hope Campaign.
Marcus has been a cheerleader of my work for a number of years, beginning with a charity auction in maybe 2008 0r 2009…
Recognizing his core to be one of integrity, of openness and kindness, I again approached him to contribute something to my (still to be edited) book, NEVER BLEND IN.
His answers to my questions illustrated an evolved humanity which others would do well to observe and replicate.
So, of course, when the Give ‘em Hope Campaign began, who did I call upon?
Serendipity, fate, the universe had brought Marcus to my part of the world and so, today, we met.
Marcus Patrick
Born in Bath England to Jamaican and Irish parents Marcus Patrick (born Patrick Marcus Osbourne) is a British actor who has been based in the United States for several years. He has appeared in such American television series as My Wife & Kids, CSI: Miami, Passions and Dancing With The Stars.
From 29 June, until 25 September 2006 he was part of the cast of the long-running soap All My Children playing the role of Jamal Cudahy and as Jett Carver in Days of our Lives. He has also played the lead role in an independent film I Do, I Did (2009)
Aside from acting, Marcus Patrick has also practiced Tae Kwon Do, winning championships at the junior and men’s heavyweight level. For a while, he was intent on becoming a professional fighter, but upon realizing that his violence was fueled by a history of physical abuse, decided he could no longer fight.
Often referred to as one of the most beautiful men in the world, Patrick has had a singing career, firstly with the boyband Worlds Apart as well as a solo career with Simon Cowell of American Idol fame acting as Agent and Manager
Unlimited by labels, Patrick strides forwards on an intellectual and spiritual path; unafraid to lead others towards authenticity.

THANK YOU FOR RESPECTING THIS.
MARCUS PATRICK IS A KEY VOICE IN THE FORTHCOMING BOOK, NEVER BLEND IN:
INTERVIEW EXTRACT:
I myself am not gay, nor do I consider myself Bisexual; I am a man who did not see the straight community as being evolved, loving or brave and so I invented my own definition. BI-LOVING = Meaning able to love all beings. Not have sex! LOVE
The minute one says the word Bi, of course most will assume this means sex but this is because the consciousness is focused on the sex as a way of relating. When you are able to strip all the acted behaviour away from a person and just have them sit, talk and share life, we see that we are all the same; abused, in need of Love and survival from the elements. I care for all beings.
If that makes me Part of the Gay or Bi Scene, Bring it!
THE FULL FRANK AND FASCINATING INTERVIEW WILL APPREAR IN NEVER BLEND IN LATER THIS YEAR.
Marcus and wife Alisa are currently focused on building the reputation of their company, Organic Life & Fitness in which they aim:
TO IMPROVE YOUR HEALTH
TO IMPROVE YOUR MIND and
~TALK TO YOUR SPIRIT~ .

PRESS RELEASE
THE “Give ‘em Hope” VIDEO INITIATIVE
Director of NBI Associates, motivational speaker and author of the inspirational NEVER BLEND IN, David E. Watters is launching a youtube video campaign to inspire, encourage and uplift those who may feel disenfranchised or who may lack self-belief.
THE “Give ‘em Hope” VIDEO CAMPAIGN IS AN INITIATIVE TO INSPIRE ALL YOUTH AND ADULTS WHO MAY DOUBT THEIR VALIDITY because ALL people, regardless of cultural heritage, physical or psychological ability, age, sexuality or gender identity, may feel self-doubt as they make the transition into adult life.
Many also, in adult life, encounter discrimination and bullying in the workplace and in other social settings.
To redress this, David E. Watters is seeking individuals, couples and groups to share their stories, in whichever way they choose, in a bid to provide support and encouragement to anyone who may question their place in the world.
These stories of living authentically, with dignity and unlimited by labels will become a powerful toolkit to help others understand how self-perception determines the path that they choose and that life need not be a self fulfilling prophecy when they improve self-concept, drive out fear and embrace new challenges as opportunities to learn and to grow.
IF YOU LIVE UNLIMITED BY LABELS…
THEN TELL US HOW IT’S DONE
Whether you are L.G. B or T…or ANY other letter of the alphabet, make and send your video to: DavidWatters@nbiassociates.co.uk

Our BELIEFS inform our THOUGHTS, which in turn inform our CHOICES
Life need not be a self-fulfilling prophecy and by recognising that our “truth” has been shaped through our relationships, our environment and our experiences, we can begin to change our perceptions, heighten our self-esteem and move toward our personal and professional goals with clear vision and purpose….
| As a parent bringing up a straight and a gay child, I think one of our messages to our children was ‘be yourself’ in all things – think for yourself, dress for yourself, and don’t be afraid to stand up and be recognized for who you are or what you believe in. Never Blend In is all of these positive messages.
IRENE MILLER

| …we are in the fight for our very lives. NEVER BLEND IN says that we are committed to living out in the open, as we have a right to do. NEVER BLEND IN, means never settle for second best or the notion that we are “second class citizens” I will NEVER blend in.
SIMONE CAMPBELL

| We all have to carve out our own paths in the world. We can’t follow another person’s path, and contrary to opinion, we can’t wear someone else’s shoes. We have our destiny and ours alone to shape and control. While I am straight, I have friends that are not, and I want them to have the opportunity to carve their own paths and wear their own shoes without being ashamed, shamed, or abused. I want them to be able to live in the world with the same rights as myself. I hope your book makes a small step in the direction of that world. I think it will.

| Never Blend In is about more than being gay, straight, or whatever orientation. It’s about the importance of building a life appropriate for you–the real you. Harvey Milk encouraged us to give EVERYONE hope, and this work does just that, showing people that they can live happily and well no matter WHO they are.

| David, I have always been separated from the rest..I have always forged my own path despite the obstacles of being different. The true leaders in all social realms are the individuals. These are the people who are not afraid of closed doors, untraveled paths, and at the end leaders into uncharted territory..Thank you for allowing us to tell our tale. I am and always have been comfortable in my own skin although I know it’s not a suit most would choose to wear..Thanks for giving me the forum to express that. Best of Luck to you…(I know you don’t need it) LIZA FRIEDLANDER

| NBI is likely to be encouraging to anyone who isn’t ‘normal’, with the vital message, Be Youself – normality is at fault! “:o)

| Adolescence is an emotional minefield for any boy or girl. For gay teens, navigating that treacherous minefield can be especially challenging. NEVER BLEND IN is a wildly valuable source of comfort, support and inspiration for young people at this most vulnerable time in their lives. I applaud David Watters for providing a book that offers a valuable lesson to all young people, regardless of gender or sexual orientation: be comfortable in your own skin, make the most of your own unique assets and never fall for the trap that “being like everybody else” is better, smarter or easier. I highly recommend NEVER BLEND IN: THE LEGACY OF HARVEY MILK.

| NEVER BLEND IN is a perfect title because as the book it requires you to surmise your own individual independent meaning. For me..To NOT be a follower…to think for yourself, and to be authentic and pure.

NEVER BLEND IN is not a negative title, it is a defiant title. It is almost like an elder’s advice – ‘Hey, Kid, Whatever you do & however you live remember – “Never Blend In!”‘.TUHIN CHATURVEDI

In the world of “Lost Hope” for the youth of the World this book stands as a beacon of light that others have traveled the road before. “Be true to yourself” & “Never Blend In”.JOEL FRAZIER, M.D.

| Blending in is compromising in all areas of who we are, whether it’s sexuality or not.

| I always feel inspired by someone everyday. I think we should learn something new each day from anywhere or anyone.I’m inspired, right now, by you; answering your intelligent questions Mr. David Watters. It’s not often I get to answer some great meaningful questions. Often it’s always about sex or training. So Bravo!!!

| “Never Blend In,” is so absolutely crucial to our very survival. For when we first discovered our difference, we believed we were alone. This is why statistically, gay teen suicide attempts are four times that of heterosexual youth, and for every completed suicide by a gay youth, there are between 100-200 attempts that are made by other gay teens. Astoundingly, one-third of ALL teenagers who commit suicide do so because they are gay. In America, we have had as many as 11 teenagers a day commit suicide due to their sexual orientation! “Never Blend In” provides a guiding light for all LGBT people (in fact, for all non-LGBT people as well) because it demonstrates that not only are you not alone, but that you too can rise to attain your most desired dreams. There is nothing and no one that can hold you back. Harvey Milk paved the way for us all to be able to be ourselves and to simultaneously provide a role model for others. Whether you are the parent, uncle, or cousin of a gay child, or friend of a gay adult, the stories presented here give a unique insight into the relationships we cherish. You do not need to be gay to be inspired by the lives of these amazing heroes, whose stories are told, often for the first and only time, in “Never Blend In.”
