I’m outraged that people are outraged about an outrageous thing that is not the same outrageous thing that I am outraged about.

Why is it only famous lions who matter?

Why just this beautiful, magnificent creature and why not all lions and tigers and bears (oh my)?

Why not all animals FULL STOP?

There’s such hypocrisy in this global outrage because poor Cecil is now deceased.

Millions of animals are slaughtered every single day.

Yes, it’s incredibly sad and the story has shone a light on this big game “industry” and that is a good thing but lets not tuck into your burger, your KFC, your cow pie or whatever and believe that somehow that’s any different. What we have here is cognitive dissonance in action.

We can eat it if it’s not beautiful and majestic and we can eat it if it’s called by another name – some kids don’t even know where burgers come from, other than McDonalds!

Isn’t it time that we valued all life on our planet or should we just continue to delude ourselves that God created these lives for us to use as fast food.

Run Rabbit, run!
