FROZEN LYRICS Perfected… (For the transgender woman) – By Karen Adell Scot

Karen Adell Scot and I connected online, yes on facebook, because I’d often read her candid and life-affirming posts in a facebook Trans-support group and I was sure that she had a great deal to contribute to the Give ’em Hope Campaign.

One thing we could all strive for is to live with absolute authenticity and in doing so we can shine a light for others who struggle with self-acceptance.

Sharing our stories can change lives and perhaps even save lives.

The following is a status update from Karen that I thought was so creative and clever.

The words from that overdone and oversung song, Let it Go, from Disney’s “Frozen” have been cunningly and stunningly reworked to communicate a relatable message.

FROZEN LYRICS Perfected… By Karen Adell Scot

(For the transgender woman)
My heart glows bright on the mountain tonight,

No family sadly to be seen.

A kingdom of isolation and it looks like I’m the queen.

The wind outside is howling like my swirling storm inside.

Couldn’t keep it in, Heaven knows I tried.
Don’t let them in, don’t let them see.

Be the good boy your expected to be.

Conceal, don’t feel, don’t let them know.

Well, now they know!
Let it go, let it go!

Can’t hold it back any more.

Let it go, let it go!

Turn away and slam the door.

I don’t care what they’re going to say.

Let the storm rage on,

The mold never fit me anyway.
It’s funny how a vital change,

Makes everything seem small.

And the fears that once controlled me, can’t get to me at all

It’s time to see what I can do,

To test the limits and break through.

I’ll fight the wrong, new rules for me.

I’m free!
Let it go, let it go.

I am one with the wind and sky.

Let it go, let it go.

As I transition, hear my cry.

Here I’ll stand, and here I’ll stay.

Let the storm rage on,

The mold never fit me anyway.
My tears from rejection fall onto the ground.

My soul is renewing, Heaven’s light is all around

One thought inside explodes out of me, like a thundering blast

I’m never going back; the past is in the past!
Let it go, let it go.

And I’ll rise like the break of morn.

Let it go, let it go

The perfect girl is born

Here I stand, in the light of day.
Let the storm rage on!

The mold never fit me anyway…
