Be Your Own Best Company – Karen Adell Scot for neverblendin & The Give ’em Hope Campaign

Karen Adell Scot continues to share her generous spirit with us and today she speaks to those who are alone this Thanksgiving.
Whilst we can’t make choices for others, even for those we love, we can choose to love ourselves and give thanks for what we do have in our lives.

If you are alone during the holidays please know you are not alone. Many of us are apart from our loved ones and it is due to choices that are out of our control.
Since we cannot change the choices of others we need to choose to be our own best company.
I will be happy tomorrow even if apart from those whom I love.
If you are down journal your feelings. If you seek peace, pray or meditate. If you need some way to keep busy, put up the Christmas stuff for yourself and blare carols while you do it.
You are special, and an important part of the vibrant fabric that constructs all humanity. I for one, will be right there with you.
I think my cat Scully gets tuna tomorrow for a treat! 🙂 I will add to her obesity, hehe.

This was originally posted on Karen’s facebook page and, as always, Karen was happy to share her positivity here with us.

Two responses, to this message, illustrate how shining a light can have a significant impact upon others.
“Keep up the positivity! I hope your holidays are great! And if you know anyone else trying to get through the holidays this is another positive resource.”
“Tomorrow I will take joy in celebrating the gift I have received that I have waited all my life; it’s a dream come true…I am thoroughly happy. I will spend my day preparing a nutritious meal: Butterball turkey breast with gravy, stuffing, peas and corn, flaky dinner rolls, cranberry sauce, shrimp cocktail, Martinelli’s grape and apple, and pecan pie. If I feel up to it, I might go see a movie too. Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving. Love you. Hugs.”

Send me your story and make a difference to the lives of those who hear it.
