Lest we Forget – Michelle Partington for neverblendin

Michelle Partington is the founder of Behind the Mask Mental Health Foundation: http://www.behindthemaskfoundation.com/

She is an RAF veteran who is fighting to end mental health stigma, particularly in relation to PTSD, because not all wounds are visible and there are different battles to be fought that no one can see.

So on this day of Remembrance, please spare a thought for those who gave all, but also spare a thought for those loved ones who also lost a piece of their hearts the day their loved ones passed. Today let’s also remember those who continue carrying the burden of war both physically & mentally.

Today we remember; today I remember. I will remember all those hands I held as their last breath escaped them, those we couldn’t save and those we did save who’s lives have changed forever. For all those who took their own life because carrying the burden of war was just too much. I will remember you with an ache in my belly but warmth in my heart.

I will be very proud to be marching at The Cenotaph in London on Sunday.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them.

Lest we forget
