#SpiritOfAmerica by Robert Gamboa for neverblendin

Thank you to Robert for sharing this with neverblendin. Times are challenging and I think positive posts like these are needed more than ever. 💜

This morning I decided to take a walk down Hollywood Blvd and get some coffee.

It was beautiful. So many people from so many countries walking around oohing and aahing as tourists so commonly do, taking pictures, speaking in their native tongues. There were beautiful Muslim women, gay couples holding hands, children laughing as parents tickled them. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. People honked and waved hello as they passed. People stopped and said hi in the sidewalk and struck up a conversation. Some even knew my name! Imagine that. In this great big metropolis of 20 million people, I felt so…at home. I wish the rest of the world could see that #LosAngeles is magnificent proof that we can live as one community in celebration of our differences. I treasure this walk this morning as I fear these days are numbered. What is happening in Washington is not my America. It is not the Spirit of America. This, here, now in Los Angeles, is the #America I know and love. This is the America I will always fight for. This is the #SpiritOfAmerica
