“DESPAIR” = [noun]: the complete loss or absence of hope.

In our journey of life sometimes we experience a complete loss of hope; this is what we call  ‘DESPAIR’.  DESPAIR is such a cruel punishment! There aren’t any fevers, rashes – no blood tests to send people scurrying in concern – just the slow erosion of self, as insidious as any cancer – and like any cancer, it’s essentially a solitary room in Hell with only your name on the door!!  We should be reminded that DESPAIR will be replaced with PEACE when we think on the right things. Remind ourselves that it is okay NOT to be PERFECT!  Before we can see the light, we have to deal with the darkness. Sometimes “The greatest FAITH is born in the hour of DESPAIR. When we can see no HOPE and no way out, then FAITH rises and brings the VICTORY.” Sometimes we learn the hard way that it doesn’t pay to DESPAIR or get DISCOURAGED ~ keeping busy and making OPTIMISM A WAY OF LIFE can restore the FAITH in ourselves!!  We aren’t what we have DONE ~ or what has HAPPENED TO US ~ “WE ARE WHAT WE HAVE OVERCOME”!!  Real STRENGTH doesn’t come from what we ‘CAN’ do – it comes from OVERCOMING the things we once thought we ‘COULDN’T’ ! Sometimes we just have to “FIGHT LIKE HELL” and that ‘FIGHTING’ will make us what we want to be!  We just have to BELIEVE in ourselves – and all that we are, knowing there is something inside us that’s GREATER than ANY obstacle or challenge!!

In the end, what a Blessing it would be, if we each could say ~ “… I AM ‘STRONGER’ BECAUSE I HAD TO BE!  I AM ‘SMARTER’ BECAUSE OF MY MISTAKES!  I AM ‘HAPPIER’ BECAUSE I HAVE OVERCOME THE SADNESS I’VE KNOWN & I AM ‘WISER’ BECAUSE I HAVE LEARNED FROM MY LIFE” !!!

Enjoy the remainder of the weekend, and have an AWESOME, POSITIVE & PRODUCTIVE week ahead!
